CBP seizes unreported cash and drugs near Nogales | Crime

Last Sunday Customs and Border Patrol agents seized unreported cash and drugs from two different arrests, in the Nogales area.

The first arrest was made of a 30-year-old female who was attempting to smuggle over $87,000 in cash across the border into Mexico.  Isaura Cordova was arrested after her vehicle was pulled over for a secondary inspection and Nogales Border Patrol agents found several vacuum sealed bags of money, in the vehicles center console.

In a second separate incident, a canine agent alerted agents to possible drugs in a vehicle driven by Phoenix resident Tadeo Martinez.  Agents then searched the car and found over 37 pounds of methamphetamine hidden inside. 

Both Martinez and Cordova were turned over to U.S. ICE/HSI agents, while the drugs and cash were also turned over for further processing.
