Arizona Game and Fish Commission unanimously supports federal act

The Arizona Game and Fish Commission voted unanimously at its May 10 public meeting in Kingman, to support H.R. 687, the Southeast Arizona Land Exchange and Conservation Act.

The legislation, sponsored by Congressman Paul Gosar and Congresswoman Ann Kirkpatrick, would bring into federal stewardship more than 5,500 acres of high-priority conservation lands in exchange for 2,600 acres of national forest system land intermingled

Bureau of Land Management begins fire restrictions

Effective Wednesday, May 22, the Gila District of the Bureau of Land Management, to include all districts of Coronado National Forest, Saguaro National Park, Coronado National Memorial, Chiricahua National Monument, Fort Bowie National Historic Site, Tumacacori National Historical Park, and the Arizona State Forestry Division will implement campfire and smoking restrictions in southeastern Arizona.
